It's from a little river so I wasn't giving it much hope and I'm ready to go pour it back if I see the ecosphere collapsing. But so far it's green and full of life, I'm only wondering if these guys are not suffering from being in a stale water instead of a river.

    detritus worms

According to google : Decomposing organic matter:
This is the main food source for detritus worms. They thrive in areas where organic material accumulates, such as the substrate of aquariums or stagnant water bodies.

Detritus Worms (AKA Boogie Worms cause they dance). Good for any tank or jar.

Random question–once I get my jar started, if I get some of these guys, can I feed them to my tetras in my big tank? (Congos, Buenos Aries, black phantom, candy cane, etc)
