Bermuda or couch, Cynodon dactylon. Those rhizomes head for middle earth.

I have this all over my lawn in southern NJ. How can I get rid of it? I thought it was a warm season grass?

It’s just Bermuda grass. All southern golf courses are made up of it. It’s great grass, regenerates on its own, and it will spread and cover up bald spots on your lawn.
