Zone 3a, which can be tricky with our brutal winters. My goal is at least 75% native plants which I’m pretty well approaching. The climbing roses will eventually cover the arch, though it’ll take some time. I have a flowering crabapple that has made for some incredible soil from all the little apples and leaves dropping. Many of my plants thst populate the garden were free from people dividing, or from trading.

What do the naysayers say, and how do you defend your work?
When I buy my first house I plan on doing this to my yard too. To have some defending talking points locked in would be great.

As someone in zone 5b I tip my hat to you. I’ve had no luck with my milkweed and wasn’t sure it could be done but I’m inspired to try again. Looks amazing!
