Thanks for watching and being part of our journey!
okay good morning folks thank you for tuning inÂ
again so this is the next phase of our Japanese garden restoration uh it’s the weekend so IÂ
have time to do a little bit of work on it uh if you saw the previous video I completed thisÂ
portion right here to trap the water I ordered a water pump on Amazon and I’m going to temporarilyÂ
connect it to a little backup battery that we have but eventually I also want to create a solar panelÂ
system and I have one in the back over there that came along with this house when we purchased itÂ
I got a used battery from the local mechanic so I’ll be working on the solar panel system asÂ
well to get this going but the goal for this weekend is to at least try to get this coveredÂ
and drain and connect the pump so go ahead and uh follow us along if you don’t mind and continueÂ
watching the restoration of the Japanese garden right now I’m headed over to a friend’s propertyÂ
he’s a fellow American and he bought some property here in town as well and eventually is’s goingÂ
to be building the house the same Carpenter that did the renovation of our house right here isÂ
the one that’s going to build his house and he has a lot of bamboo and I’m going to go get someÂ
bamboo from him to to work on the shishio DOI in the bamboo waterfall system that I have plannedÂ
for right here all right folks let’s go so this entire property right here in front of us is uhÂ
Wade’s property Wade is a fellow American a fellow veteran as well and that lives in the same townÂ
of miwa where uh we have our house and uh kayak son our Builder uh helped him uh purchase thisÂ
land as well and uh we discussed about doing a uh video later on it’s really interesting theÂ
process that he went through basically working through the local authorities and it’s all aboutÂ
Connections and so on so later we’re going to do a video about that so please stay tuned but rightÂ
now we’re just going to go over there in the back he’s over there in the back clearing out hisÂ
bamboo and because of eventually he’s going to build a house right here really looking forward toÂ
that but yeah let’s go ahead and get some bamboo [Music] [Music] a you have like fireworks going off when you uh whenÂ
you burn the bamboo so I don’t burn the big pieces of bamboo oh okay cuz it’s way too loud somebodyÂ
would complain I’m mostly burning just grass and leaves I think that’ll do for now [Music] [Applause] [Music] obviously this is not the dumb product butÂ
you know you have the two holes right here I’ll probably reuse those so youÂ
have water coming from here and water coming from there m and come down like that and then the doi to go into theÂ
go into this to the water basin this is a pump oh okay yeah right now I’m justÂ
putting water in it because it didn’t have enough water I I’m going to take that out andÂ
clean it but and then then I’m going to use a solar panel in the battery to just have itÂ
going up all the time sounds nice sounds nice huh wait till c your do is done oh oh the simple things inÂ
life that make me happy [Music] [Applause] oh [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay so that will do it for today I’m going to letÂ
this dry overnight and continue adding a couple more um pieces of free bar and then some sortÂ
of uh mesh wire and then the decorative rocks should I blur it out cover it with my [Music] handÂ
good morning folks uh day two of the restoration for this weekend my wife is over there practicingÂ
the Cotto the Japanese musical instrument and as I’m kind of like considering what I’m going toÂ
do for today some animal decided to use this as a toilet oh God country life but now I got to cleanÂ
that out I don’t even know what it is I don’t think it’s a cat maybe a Tanuki I’m not quiteÂ
sure the Tanuki is one of these uh uh what do you call it dog raccoons but anyway so the goalÂ
for today is to kind of get this covered and uh to get some water going I still need to work onÂ
the solar panel or and and that type of stuff but for now let’s go ahead and uh work on thisÂ
and uh it’s a beautiful day uh end of October so it’s uh just absolutely stunning it’s justÂ
a really nice day to be working outside [Music] [Music] [Music] CL [Music] [Music] I am not happy with this so when I ranÂ
to the store to look for some uh some sort of uh wire mesh and I realized that this and it’sÂ
actually pretty cheap this is for um uh what is it like for concrete floors uh sidewalks but it’sÂ
like 500 yen and I figured I could just kind of double up like that and that would create a goodÂ
support for the stone so let’s go ahead and try [Music] [Applause] it okay ow [Music] ow so this ought to do it for todayÂ
uh go ahead and call this a weekend uh so I ended up changing the original ContraptionÂ
I had going on there I didn’t like it too much uh this one right here is I guess it’s good enoughÂ
um at least I’m able to move it around to create more uh coverage uh and then next I need to goÂ
over to the river I think I’m going to go down to nishika River and gather up some uh RiverÂ
stones and then also go to the store and buy the pretty black decorative rocks to cover upÂ
this whole area but for now I also need to go ahead and uh probably spend an hour bring my KÂ
truck over and uh clean out this sand a little bit so that I so it’s somewhat level and uhÂ
it’s going to rain so I need to cover it up with the blue tarp and hopefully next weekendÂ
I can go ahead and start uh some water going hopefully you are enjoying this Japanese gardenÂ
restoration please stay tuned till the end w [Music] [Music] so it’s been raining for the past couple days andÂ
actually yesterday it absolutely poured probably one of the stronger uh storms that we’ve had sinceÂ
I’ve been living here there was actually some um flood warnings and whatnot but so right now I’mÂ
going to go ahead and uncover it and go ahead and uh try to connect the pump and probably even uhÂ
take out some water and for now just kind of get water going and connect it to the little uh backupÂ
uh battery bank that I have that I’m going to keep in the uh the little man cave building that IÂ
call but eventually I’m going to work towards um putting a solar panel maybe on this side and justÂ
continuously have it going I uh received a battery or I got a battery from our local mechanic he gaveÂ
me a used battery but it’s still in good shape so that’s kind of what I’m going to do so let’sÂ
go ahead and uncover it and get to work [Music] [Music] [Music] okay okay so um obviously this is just aÂ
temporary um uh connection right here I’m going to go ahead and plug it into the batteryÂ
bank that I’m going to place in there for now um once I kind of prove the theory thatÂ
everything works I will uh conduit this wire as it’s going to be buried uh starting fromÂ
here all the way into there all right let’s go ahead and plug it in and uh just kind of watchÂ
the water flow down and uh that’s the beginning [Music] ha love it [Music] [Music] ah yes [Music] and the sun reflecting onÂ
the water looks really cool too so yeah eventually I need to get a bambooÂ
uh Fountain the she I would pour into here get that going so it will overflow off thisÂ
right now the next task is to go ahead and cover this up and cover up over here and thenÂ
later I’ll worry about the wiring the conduit properly yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] w [Music] [Music] [Music] hey hey hey oh [Music] hey

That's a really nice looking toilet you got there buddy! HAHAHA, but seriously, it's looking great Lawrence!
Man buddy, you need to unearth the whole thing and put water in flowers some water lilly and maybe a koi! but looks great so far!
Good job Getting down and dirty.
Looking really good! We love what youre doing with your low maintenance pond restoration.
Also, that looks like a really well maintained bamboo grove! The groves we can harvest from all have thick underbrush and street dogs building dens in there đ
Looking good, Lawrence! I was surprised at how cheap that reinforcement mesh at my home centre was as well!
