King Charles is hiring a gardener to work at the Sandringham Estate.

According to an advert on the estate’s website, a new gardener is being recruited to look after the Woodland and Water Gardens.

The role involves “maintaining and presenting” this section of the 20,459-acre grounds to the “highest horticultural standard”.

The successful candidate will be “enthusiastic” and have “a good understanding of horticultural principles”.

As well as tending to the greenery and plants, they will be expected to engage with visitors, get involved with upcoming plans and projects, keep current on industry developments and actively share their ideas.

This is a full-time position and would mostly involve working from Monday to Friday, although some weekend shifts will be required.

The salary and pension benefits have not been disclosed but are being described as “competitive”.

Applications should be submitted to the estate’s head gardener Jack Lindfield before July 25.
