I killed my lawn this summer (Midwest) and planted flowers in its place. A lot of the seedlings are just coming up so this lone cosmo is a stand out.

I turned a patch into a garden as well, filled with a pollinator mix. I had dozens and dozens of Cosmos coming up, and was pumped for them to bloom. Then the deer found them. All gone. Every. Single. One.

This is an important reminder. Especially as my plants really struggle to come back from last year’s drought.

Agreed! Make sure to mix in some native plants and native wildflowers to really help out your local native pollinators. 🙂
