Located in Edmonton, Alberta. I fought a losing battle for years after inheriting a lawn in very rough shape from the previous owner. I finally decided to nuke my small backyard and start from scratch. After nuking, I tilled everything, and trucked in a bunch of fresh topsoil and compost to fix the grading and improve heavily compacted/settled clay.
I installed fresh KBG sod 5 weeks ago on June 1st. I wasn't fully satisfied with a consistency of the sod delivered, half the pallet was very thick/lush while the other half was noticeably thinner/lighter/with sparse patches…..I almost complained. 1 month later, it's completely homogeneous and I couldn't be more pleased. The weather has been cooperating nicely, with ample rain and no super hot/dry spells thus far. Currently mowing every 3 days at a height of 3.5". This sub inspired the reno and has made it my mission to keep my little 800 sqft patch looking as pristine as humanly possible.

Full renos are fun and rule. Looks great. Fuck yeah! 🤘🏻
It will be continuous time, effort, and money to keep it that way.
Gorgeous lawn. Jealous. Mine is a work in progress.
Nice! What did you use to nuke?
5 weeks? That’s cool, bro. Now your lawn looks so fresh, spending much time in this meaningful thing is really worth it.
