This my girlfriend and I's first ever background that we are building. We've added GE silicone 1 to the back (textured) and let it cure for 24+ hours. After that we added the Great stuff pond and stone expanding foam and covered with coco fiber and spag moss.
We've noticed that after curing, the foam has lifted around some of the corners of the enclosure and even parts of the middle. What should we do to fix this? We don't want our background to be weakened over time and fall apart so we're thinking of adding more silicone to accessible parts that didn't stick as well as adding more expanding foam and coco fiber.
Should we apply the foam right after applying silicone while it is still wet or wait for the silicone to dry first?

Did you mist the silicone with water before adding the foam?
