Question: Recommendations for best mister to buy for my Vivarium?

   – Wanting to buy a mister for my vivarium (pictured) as a humidifying and watering system
   – Automated would be ideal
   – Hoping to house a small gecko eventually
   – Currently housing various detritivores and some ants (just regular small black ants that came in from the log piece)
   – Top and mid price point options?
   – Living in Australia

   There’s a cheap brand on Amazon called Fenocran Mister. I’ve had no issues whatsoever with my two, and they’re pretty cheap. Assembly isn’t bad. I use them for my plants/geckos.

   p.s. Make sure it’s safe to have a gecko in a tank with ants. “Prey” items often end up harming/killing their supposed predators. Mice to snakes, insects to reptiles, you get the idea. To get rid of your ants, you can bomb the entire tank with dry ice. Though it might kill your dentrivores too.

   Mistking if you want the rock solid option. They all work similarly, it’s just how long that makes the difference

   I would prioritize a new lid before misting system. Cardboard will not last long.

   Pop a sheet of acrylic on top of that bad boy first. You can get it cut to the correct size. Drill some holes in it for ventilation.
