MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – With the mild weather outside, it was a great day for people to go shopping or spend some time outdoors.

Alldredge Gardens hosted their monthly market at the garden event today.

Every first Saturday of the month.

Vendors from Midland and the surrounding communities attend the Alldredge Market at the Gardens event.

This is an opportunity for them to sell their products and connect with the community.

“It’s cool. It is a neat place and I love shopping here even when I am not set up here, so it is neat to come and do that,” said Joanna Pack.

People were able to shop for a wide variety of products.

From food, jewelry, clothing, and more.

We look forward to coming out here. It’s one of the bigger shows that we do. We also have bigger markets around town, but this is one of our favorites,” said Helen Gonzales, Owner & Baker of Baked Bliss Bread.

The vendors at the farmer’s market allow them to connect with the community.

Most of the vendors rely on the community when they participate in the farmers’ market.

“With Midland growing as fast as it is. I hate to see family-owned businesses and vendors have to stop selling because people go out elsewhere,” said Helen Gonzales.

The organizers say it is important for people to come out and shop local and to continue to help local vendors.

“I am a big proponent of local shopping, and I do it myself and take advantage of these events all the time,” said Russell Johnson.
