I've got 3 gardeners I watch on the regular. This guy is #1🏆
I read the other day that bees are no longer declining but are doing well.
I love and appreciate that after so many years posting videos and well over a million subscribers, you continue to give us informative and helpful videos. I started more summer squash this morning and the staking method is working great! I noticed you pulled the mulch over where you planted the seeds. So the plants will come up OK through the mulch? I want to plant another round of green bush beans. I was going to put down the mulch first but wasn't sure the seeds would sprout through it.
Will you be doing a video soon on starting our fall seeds indoors? I'm not sure when to start them as most seed packets are geared toward spring planting which doesn't work well in warm climates like ours.
Burmese okra can get quite large without getting woody. I harvest mine at around 8 to 10 inches in length. Let them set for a day or two after harvesting and they will be soft and pliable. They also are a bit less slimy than other varieties I've grown over the years.
Thank you Brian. 🌼🌺💚🙃
My sunflower's are starting to open, but still very few bee's, haven't seen any honey bee's at all yet. My garden is enormous right now and with everything I have I won't need anything else planted except cucumbers. I have extra kale and spinach so I'm going to juice it, make a tea with that and coffee grounds and alittle molasses. I'll put an air stone in it for 24/48 hour's feed everything after the rainstorms and watch the fruit's multiply. Thanks for all the great tips, on my way to get some Cosmos seeds to plant.
re: corn I'm in zone 3, barely 100 days between last and first frost. Last year, I grew Yukon Chief, which is only 55 days to maturity. They were great, until the racoons got them! This year, we're trying Orchard Baby, which is only 65 days to maturity.
Just the ideas I needed. Thank you. 😊
2 questions. When/Will you do a fall planting calendar? How should I adjust planting time when done in containers in a tunnel greenhouse?
Fried Oprah? I didn't know she smoked that stuff…. 😆
Thank you for the Cosmos tip. I tried corn 2x this season and finally gave up after the bunnies ate the corn and bean sprouts. I've since planted more beans, cukes and winter squash but now I'm excited since I have a bunch of Cosmos seeds left. Just hope the bunnies don't like those! 😬
We had a bee guy come get a swarm out of our lemon tree. Afterwards we could see the beginnings of a hive forming on leaves. Crazy! The bee guy said he's very busy. Bees are still here, at least in San Diego.
hi 🤗
great list of delicious plant seeds to sow. tfs
summer squash
beans
cucumber
okra
basil
oregano
thyme
swiss chard
sweet corn
cosmos
I'm also zone 10a, and Swiss Chard has been the easiest veggie. I only got 1 small spinach and a couple of lettuce to hang in this spring. I planted my second round of zucchini a bit ago since the first fell victim to disease really quick (don't plant a full Green Stalk layer of zucchini like I did).
The only cucumber that seems to be doing in my garden is an Armenian cucumber, so today I planted some more seeds. The type I planted is fuzzy and that threw me off at first but they are delicious.
Save the seeds from the okra pods to grind up and use as flour
We grow for so long in North Florida, that by this time of year, I am thankful everything is dying off! I am putting Mexican sunflower down and solarizing my beds to fall. Our pest load is also insane this time of year. Good info though, it is possible to grow all of these now.
I enjoy and learn from every one of your videos! Also, I have a couple of REOLINK security cameras, and am a bit disappointed in them. The front door camera sometimes gets activated, sometimes not. Sometimes it will track a vehicle, sometimes not. I placed a second camera at the back door, and its wi-fi connectivity is pitiful. So, I moved it to within 10 feet of my router, on the garage door, and it sometimes works. NOT impressed. LOVE your gardening videos, though!!
