Ser it aside in a warm place and wait a year

You may have picked it too soon, should wait for it to ripen on the plant. Its ready when the top scales dry out and start to fall off. You have to eat it gradually as the fruit ripens top to bottom over several days.

No idea about the fruit but the pole looks like it has its own zipcode

Maybe put it in one of those paper bags closed…it’ll help trap the gas that helps it ripen and keep it warm…just like how you speed up the process with avocados. Just make sure you keep an eye out to track how it is ripening

It should’ve been left on the plant. It’s safe to eat when the scales start to flake off with minimal effort. If you eat too early it’s basically fiberglass
