My Secret to a Green Thumb: Easy Container Gardening on My Deck! #growyourownfood #gardening #plants #growsomething #containergardening #fruitgrowing

hello everyone Welcome to my garden on my deck I want to give you a brief tour today Just show you what I what I’m working with So let’s start off with this little um aloe vera plant This is its second year with me and it’s been doing well It was actually bigger and I uh harvested some I use it for my hair and my skin and also use it in my smoothie and uh Huh tell them how you took it out of direct sunlight cuz it don’t Oh yeah Good idea Um so over canopy there Yeah I noticed that with uh um aloe vera plants they don’t need a lot of sun for some reason and also they don’t need a lot of water So um it was able to thrive throughout the winter indoors without any sunlight and barely got any water So I keep it under the canopy under the cover right here You said no no sunlight I mean they hold a lot of water inside So yeah they don’t need all day They don’t need 12 hours of sun Like six to eight Yeah Well yeah true And these are Spanish peanuts I just planted them uh 3 weeks ago They’re doing pretty well and they have probably 60 to 90 days before harvesting So I’m excited to see how these turn out Now moving on to my little container right here This has a mixture of everything Um some things are doing well some are not And I know I made some mistake because I’m just starting out So I’m learning some from my mistake So right here we just harvested some broccoli over here Waited too long That was experimental Broccoli likes that cool weather Probably a little too a little too late But uh right now we made that cut and we’re trying to get some shoots to come out to get some more broccoli Yeah There’s some more shooting up before we cut it Yeah Collard greens No that’s broccoli too [Music] This broccoli Okay I’m waiting for it Squash onions and beetroots Beetroot I have a few beetroots in here Some are pretty small Just coming up And also some um spinach and my onions and garlic We propagated that tomato It’s about that Yeah they’re familiar with your papaya already Yes I do have a video on this papaya so you can check that out And lemon tree trying to come back from the dead in the corner right there That’s a lemon We go Let’s find some lemons by the summer Yeah that lemon tree actually been through a lot So it’s resurrected Yes we got an orange tree right here And this is my orange tree I was able to get a couple oranges off of it And right now uh I just see a little flower right there I don’t know what it’s doing Got my pepper I have my scallions I have some videos on these um green onions and also on the corn Yeah we had a corn video You done added two more to the same bag Oh yeah So I’m going to separate those corns Do I have to separate them they’re let it go now You keep transferring It’s going to make it Okay Well I’ll watch it and see what happens We going to make some tea with this mint That’s coming soon We’re going to make tea We’re going to cut this mint and make dehydrate and make tea bags That’s coming soon Now the thing I like about mint is that they survive throughout the winter outdoors They survive the snowstorm not really survive They went dormant and then as soon as the spring started they came back with a vengeance So they’ve been doing pretty well This is a papaya I know I should let it go It died because I transferred it outside too soon in February when we still have some cold nights And so I know I need to let it go but I’m watching it This pepper right here this the second year with this This the habanero peppers I made so much hot sauce with these Burn your damn mouth off Volcano hot sauce man We should do that We should do something on that too later Yeah we’ll make a video on the um hot sauce Some really good hot sauce The whole process uh fermenting I fused it I infused the the peppers with some mango Made a mango habanero hot sauce It’s crazy And another thing about this pepper tree is that I also we transferred it outside too early in February as well and had some been through some cold nights and windy nights and so it lost a lot of the leaves but it came back Yeah I cut down I cut I cut it down from last year but it’s coming back It’s starting to flower too So yeah it’s doing pretty good They know about the strawberry tower and I have a video on this strawberry tower It’s starting to flower So this is I have a video on how um using these runners from the strawberries to start up uh new plants multiplying my strawberry plants And as you can see these strawberries are flouring And I know I’m supposed to cut the very first strawberries that I see so that the plant will um focus on making more strawberries And this one is also flouring And right here is my golden I think I think it’s a golden apple tree It’s an apple tree and another strawberry plant I have a lot of strawberries Yes [Music] And my another orange tree This orange tree is what um 3 years old Three 3 years old right 3 years old Yeah From 2022 Yeah 32 It’s doing pretty good And so this this is all experimental over here Yeah This is my little Bunch of starters Just a bunch of starters I got some Let’s see what I have I have time I have different types of oregano I have echia garlic cabbage and the lemongrass In the lemongrass I just harvested the lemongrass to make some lemongrass oil I have a video on that So and now this pepper plant talk about this pepper plant here that you planted Oh yeah This it came from a pepper from over here Yeah So this plant came from the pepper seed of that plant It was from the seed right yeah it was from the seed Yeah We try a little something different with this We going to uh going to top it off to to make it grow outwards more Just trying something different Check the top off We’ll do a video on that Yeah So I’m excited to see the pepper the um actually the apple tree um get some apples from the apple tree I understand that um they can start fruiting as soon as this fall So we’ll see My lemon tree is looking a little pitiful Like I said I harvested it this week this past weekend So it will be back Anyway just showing you a little giving you a little tour of my container garden on my deck Hope you enjoy this tour If so please
