I was gifted this strawberry plant kit about 2-3 months ago and it has not changed from this state in weeks. What am I doing wrong?

Info: I water it once a week and did briefly have some white fuzziness like overwatering fungus so I cut down on the watering. It’s lived in that bucket (which came with the kit) since it was seeded.

Initially lived indoors but moved outdoors due to insufficient sun. I live in Britain and we’ve been having heat waves quite often. I haven't given it anything beyond water (total plant parent beginner here).

That pot is massive get smaller pot so the roots don’t just grow forever

have you fed it with anything? strawberries thrive in acidic soil/fert. This looks like when I did a second round of radishes in spent soil it might just need some food.

editing to add, especially in a container im not sure how much season you have left. If I were you I would look for a more established plant at a garden center if you want fruit this season. By now most should be fruiting and you will see they get pretty big! If you have some ground space you can also think about planning a small patch from rootstock for next year.

  4. If you’re giving it tap water, I bet the soil is PHing at 7-8+. It needs acidity as the other commenter mentioned.

Does the bucket have drainage? They don’t like to be soggy so if water is building up in there that could be a factor.

We did an experiment of planting seeds and they took almost a year to get bigger than what you have. Mean while the transplants we planted at the same time went bonkers and have spread like wildfire. I suggest getting some starts

  7. Fertiliser. Those kits come with pure coir a lot of rhe time, fine for germination but hard to grow in
