I had a beautiful cuspidata variegate but it eventually started only producing leaves with no chlorophyll so I had to behead it. It now has 3 growing stems with one being bigger than the other 2. I dont know when I should split it up or how to do so without killing them. Any tips?

Maybe wait until the offsets have either roots or root buds? I beheaded a Haworthia for the same reason but now both pups are albino đ
Iâd let the pups get a bit bigger, but you could probably get the big one at this point. Iâd pull away the dried leaf at the base to get better access before starting.
Use a clean razor to start a cut below the base of the pup and carefully tear it off, keeping any new roots. Let dry for a day in shade and then pot up. Iâd wait a few days before starting to water after removal and water lightly until rooted. Definitely keep in shade til itâs firmly rooted and slowly acclimate to more light.
This looks indoor grown yes? If outdoor summer is a tough season to do this.
