In this first episode of Marty’s Garden’s 10-part self-sufficiency series, I begin the transition to a more self-sufficient lifestyle by setting up a real backyard garden on my 800m² suburban block in Mullumbimby, NSW.
After years of focusing on worm farming and edible gardening, I’m now building a complete low-cost, regenerative system that grows real food, saves money, and works with nature.

Whether you’re into composting, worm farms, seasonal planting, or just want to live more simply — this series will walk you through the steps to build your own self-sufficient garden, no matter your climate or block size.

  2. Thank you for thanking me, Mart! Like the look of your latest videos very much. They've nearly always been good but now really professional and top class. May the new focus bring up even bigger, brighter and brilliant success. Love, Dad.

  6. Hey mate. Mick here in Wagga Wagga. I'm on a similar sized property, my biggest challenge is clay soils. Any tips?
