Thereโs nothing more satisfying than harvesting a juicy, homegrown watermelon from your own garden! ๐ In this short video, weโll show you exactly how to tell when your watermelon is ripe and ready to pick, plus tips to ensure the sweetest flavor and perfect texture.
โ Check the Signs: Look for a creamy yellow spot on the underside, dried tendril near the stem, and a deep hollow sound when tapped โ all signs of ripeness!
โ Harvesting Tips: Use a clean, sharp knife or garden shears to cut the stem cleanly, leaving a bit of vine attached. Avoid pulling or twisting the fruit.
โ Post-Harvest Care: Store in a cool, dry place or refrigerate right away to lock in sweetness and prevent over-ripening.
โ Health Benefits: Watermelon is hydrating, rich in vitamins A, B6, and C, and full of antioxidants like lycopene, making it the perfect summer superfruit.
Whether youโre a seasoned gardener or just starting out, harvesting watermelon at the right time is key to enjoying the fruits of your labor. ๐๐ฑ

2 years ago I grew watermelons in containers for my family and I was so excited to have fresh home grown watermelons to give them and then when it was finally time to eat them they were all like ugh why do they have seeds? I would rather just have a seedless one from the store I was pretty sad to say the least hahahah. That melon is huge for an icebox melon is it a sugar baby?
