Hi! My prayer plant just bloomed with flowers! While exciting I'm a little concerned that this means it will die soon, so should I cut it off? Thanks! It gets lots of light (next to a south facing window) and is watered once a week.

Mine just did too! I haven’t had much luck with prayer plants in the past but my kids got me this one for Mother’s Day and I put it in an east facing window that get a couple hours of direct morning light. I worried it would be too much but clearly it’s very happy there. I just saw the flowers yesterday and they are already dying. I guess that’s normal tho? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Yours must be happy too.

I don’t know anything about prayer plants specifically maybe they have different life cycles but afaik, if you’re watering it consistently it should mean very happy plant

Mine flowered and was fine after. No need for concern.

Mine flowers all the time and it’s perfectly happy. But inevitably someone in the comments will tell you it’s dying lol

no need to worry! It’s a normal thing for them to flower. Some plants have ‘death blooms’, specifically a lot of annual flowering plants and succulents, but this is not one of them!
