¡Viva el rodeo! Preserving a Mexican tradition in Columbus
Bulls, riders, musical acts and other entertainment descend on Rancho Cententario from all corners of the U.S. Mexican diaspora every few months.
Garden Bros Nuclear Circus will perform 11 shows at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus from July 3-6.The circus features a variety of acts, including a human cannonball, the “Globe of Death” with motorcyclists and Jr The Clown.
From July 3-6, soccer jerseys will be swapped for leotards, turf will turn into gymnastics mats and Crew logos will be replaced with circus tents.
Because for four days, over Fourth of July weekend, Garden Bros Nuclear Circus will be taking over Historic Crew Stadium, 1 Black and Gold Blvd.
They will perform 11 times over the four days, so there is time for everyone to get in on the fun.
The group, which became a circus in 1932, will be touring with the newest member, Jr The Clown. In “Jr Goes to Hollywood,” the yellow-haired clown takes audience members through historic Hollywood movies with virtual reality and a live circus performance.
For the daredevils in the group, the show also has its fair share of breathtaking, heart-stopping moments.
From a human cannonball that gets shot across the arena to the “Globe of Death,” which has seven motorcyclists locked in a sphere together, there is more than enough excitement.
The circus that William and Robertson Garden started in 1932 has grown into a roughly 200-person crew that travels all over the country. The group does not travel light, with 27 semi-trucks and 80 support vehicles, it takes a village to put on something this spectacular.
Along with the 100 minutes of fun during the show, the circus offers a “preshow experience” with inflatables, classic circus foods, family-friendly paintball and much more.
Tickets are on sale now, and every adult ticket comes with a free kid ticket. The first 100 people to buy get discounted tickets for only $22.40.
