bullying somone for using a product you don’t like (miracle grow, etc;) or not growing their plant like you are is just wrong and takes away everything joyful about this hobby. there’s not supposed to be rules! it’s supposed to be fun

That pretty much goes for life in general too😊

  2. Wait. Why can’t I use miracle grow? Is it bad?

I get mildly offended by the 101872829th person asking if they should chop their plant, not how but if.

Like idk do you want 1 big plant or 2 small plants, you’re literally the only one that can decide that?!

Yeah, and along the same lines as that: You never know someone’s financial situation, so don’t judge people for making do with what they have. Not everyone can afford fancy soil and grow lights and pot liners and all the other “extra” stuff.

My opinion is that more than half of y’all have no idea what a MOSS POLE is.

People be out here calling Coco Cior poles Moss poles.  That’s a glorified stick.

This is what I’ve been saying! 100% agree

Yes!!!!! It’s supposed to be fun and enjoyable! Unless you’re gardening for food or own a nursery etc, it’s a HOBBY! Not a competition! This should be a no judgment zone lol

My controversial opinion: All my plants get treated the same. Whether it’s a pothos, monstera, cactus, etc. They get the same dirt and they all get watered at the same time- which is when I remember to.

Humidity isn’t nearly as important as proper light and watering.

Probably not that controversial, but bright indirect light is a bullshit term.

  10. i see countless of people seeking advice on their plant and people giving just completely inaccurate advice thats not relevant to their problem. if you dont know whats the solution, dont chime in saying broad terms like “maybe give it more light” or “check the roots” when theres thrips crawling everywhere lol

Unless it’s a plant super prone to rot, drainage holes lowkey aren’t that important if the pot isn’t crazy deep/big and you adjust watering accordingly

Tradescantia is the best beginner plant. I’ll die on this hill.

Overpotting is not as much of a problem as people make it out to be. The stunted growth is usually due to root growth. The biggest issue is needing to adjust your watering method for a little bit. It’s definitely a bit more work but not some kind of death sentence.

Calatheas aren’t that hard. People overcomplicate them. Some tradescantia varieties however are damn near impossible to keep alive and no one talks about it

  15. Plastic plants are insulting, I will lose a little respect for you for each plastic plant you own.
