Got these from florist in a bouquet, was wondering what these are? Plenty of light and new water added.

Those are where the spores of the fern come out (basically it’s reproductive structures). It’s nothing bad, just natural life cycle.

It’s how they reproduce for their spores!! Looks super weird but totally normal and healthy

Really cool, thanks for sharing! Those are called sori(imagine a Canadian saying sorry), and they are clusters of sporangia, which are reproductive structures that contain spores. Unlike traditional plants ferns do not spawn from seed.

  4. Looks beautiful. One of my favourite plants (not flowers) are ferns.

This made my skin crawl. Noted, never buy a fern 😖

I’ve heard that if you get into stinging nettles rubbing this on the area stops the stinging.

reasonable confusion if youve never had a fern before. it looks like it could be tons of bug eggs. ew! lol, im glad they are not. I grew up with ferns in my garden and always thought the little “buttons” on the bottom were really cool

I understand this is natural and good and all, but I really really hate this. Like really. I had been looking in to getting some, but maybe I’ll stay away from them. My feelings aside, I hope your fern grows beautiful and lovely.

Sporangia… there is where spores are produced and expelled.

I definitely screamed FERN EGGS! in my head (I forgot the word for spore until I opened the comments.)

Seed spores- beware, may detonate. I’d keep it outside the first few days
