This was unexpected when I first started using rain barrels, I did not expect them to fill up so quickly. It makes sense, their feeding from a very wide space on my roof.
Rainbarrels have been awesome addition to my garden because the water does magic for my plants. It contains magic nutrients that the plants just love. Also, it’s untreated, and free! What’s not to love!
And don’t just leave open containers sitting around your garden, it’s not the same thing, and will fill up painfully slow. Additionally they become mosquito magnets.
So get a rain barrel!
so this is why you need a rain barrel versus just a barrel sitting out there filling up with water the reason is because I had emptied out this rain barrel but within a few minutes it fills up practically completely when it rains because it is feeding off my entire roof
