Weed killer isn’t exactly budget-friendly, and eradicating the pesky plants can become quite costly, particularly if you’re dealing with a large area. However, according to experts at Joe’s Lawn Care there is one natural item that can kill weeds with “unbelievable” results and it won’t cost anywhere near as much as weed killer.
The experts say the trick to stop weeds popping up all over the place is to simply sprinkle rock salt on the ground surrounding any weeds you can see.
Rock salt works by dehydrating the weeds and will kill any weeds or grass growing there for years to come.
A spokesperson for Joe’s Lawn Care said you can “then sit back and watch as the salt kills the weeds in just a matter of days. It’s almost unbelievable”.
Adding that rock salt is “actually a super-effective and totally natural weed killer that is ace at clearing a gravel driveway”.
This effective hack produces “pretty long term results” as the salt will gradually seep into the ground where it was sprinkled, preventing any weeds (or plants) from being able to grow there for a while.
However, those eager to try this handy trick should watch how much rock salt they sprinkle as using too much could potentially harm the soil and surrounding plants
“Just make sure you are conservative with the amount you sprinkle and where you sprinkle it” warns Joe’s Lawn Care. Adding that “the last thing you want is for your lawn to become collateral damage”.
