If you’re looking for a great variety of raspberry to grow in a container or a compact situation, I have had great results growing Raspberry Shortcake on my deck in pots for years. It is called Ruby Beauty in Europe and some parts of Asia. It doesn’t get very large and it is very productive and loaded with berries. I usually get the first flush of raspberries in about mid-June to late June and then a second batch in the middle of the summer. #growyourownfood #ediblegardening #garden #gardening #fruit #berries #food #foodsecurity #raspberry #raspberries #containergardening
i’m out on the deck and I’m looking at my raspberry shortcake plants i have two of them that are in pots on the deck they’re a very compact variety of raspberry that you can grow in a container and they’re quite productive it didn’t have a good year last year but every other year that I’ve had this plant or these plants they’ve produced many berries they go about mid June they’ll produce one crop and then one probably about three to four weeks later in midsummer and it’s really neat if you don’t have room for raspberry plants or if you want to fit even more on a deck or something to increase your food production i highly recommend them it’s a really neat plant to have raspberry shortcake
