I usually leave them in there afterwards for a good hour with the door shut, they seem to do well from it

This is a lot of effort but not a brown leaf in sight, it must be working!

  2. Clean_Sink_3479

Shoot I leave some of them on the edge of the tub and lay a hot wet wash rag down next to them when I’m done so they get more humidity lol

After all I do for my calathea, she is unappreciative 😂

My bathroom is in my bedroom so I leave the door cracked to spread the humidity to the rest of the room 💀 depending on how long the shower is it can raise the room’s humidity by 30%

  4. charlypoods

no bc a twenty minute wild swing in humidity is just stressful

  5. I saw someone mention doing this in a comment only yesterday and immediately did the same thing with my baby BoP. Today she has a new leaf coming in! Cause =/= effect here, but I can pretend 😂

Yes, I call it their “timeshare.” I have a north-facing bathroom window, so I have some plants that live in there permanently, but a few that I only bring in once or twice a month for a little moisture boost.

Just my 10+ year old Nepenthes. That’s… too many.

  8. IndividualBrief4563

I do it often and my calatheas are thriving! ❤️

Yesssss omg, I take my BoP in with me whenever a new leaf is coming out and it lovvvvesss it, I love making my plants happy! 💕

Never in my life, but I’m not you, so do you, boo 💃

  11. It is a lot easier to let your plants adapt to the regular humidity

  12. photoelectriceffect

No, but I love how luxurious (if a touch inconvenient) it makes your bathroom look.

  13. GenerationalTerror

In theory, I’d love to. Too much work for a less than 10min shower

  14. mongoosechaser

Tell me your secret on the black rose calathea- sadly killed mine and want to try again 💔

  15. earthgarden

I don’t take them in per se, like on a daily basis but I do keep lots of humidity-loving plants in my full bathroom and rotate them in and out amongst the general house population. I switch them around every 3 months or so. At any given time there are 25-30 plants in there.

  16. claricepatrice_

Only my pink princess philodendron. It’s new here and it loves it. 💕

  17. You’re not weird but you bathroom is. Is that a cabinet -under- a pedestal sink?

  18. TheFinalAshe

Sooooo freaking smart. My Monstera has been struggling without humidity and I’ve been doing everything I can to help it. (New plant parent and don’t have a humidifier since I figured living on the coast would be humidity enough 😭)

  19. smolhippie

I have wayyy too many to do that. And a ton are super heavy so nah

  20. Feisty-Honeydew-5309

Once a week, the tropicals get a steam. The monstera and BoP stand in the shower and in each sink (2), I have the prayer plant and the one who’s name I’ve yet to know: I water them all good and let the steamer run for about an hour and leave the doors closed. I let them all drain in the dark overnight and put them back in the morning.

After a recent TikTok video, I’ve started to call it giving them the “jungle experience.” This is separate from my own bath because as far as space, it’s either the monstera or me but certainly not both.

I may have to give it my bedroom soon honestly.

  21. trikakeep

A lot of effort for no real benefit to the plant

  22. Starlight_Seafarer

I have far too many. I just keep some in the bathroom 24-7. I have a P. giganteum taking over

  23. Emily_Porn_6969

What is important is , what does your plant say ?

  24. radiation-rocks14

I have thought about it, but never have. I’m too lazy for all that 😉

  25. roriefranklin

I don’t do that. All 20+ plants of mine are all green, I used to work at a florist..I heard humidity doesn’t do much, and you can just mist them. I could be wrong. If I am wrong.. someone correct me, please

  26. I just group plants and put a couple bowl of water around, which also gives humidity.

  27. Floral_Bee

Not you making a sauna for your houseplants 😭.

I don’t do this because its too much effort but I do have a lil pothos plant I started from a cutting that I carry in and outside every day trying to get better light.

  28. HowdyDeux

The bathroom is my favorite one in the house.

  29. SmokeEvening8710

I live in a tropical climate so, nope.

  30. M1K3yWAl5H

I mean the appeal of opening your shower door into the jungle treetops is certainly there.

  31. Swiftgoogle

I do the same thing sometimes. About once every two months, they get their own showers.
