My neighbor is having a tree cut down in his backyard. He was just going to have the tree company take them so I asked if I could have a few. I plan on putting bird baths on top of them until they hollow out and are used as homes for all the critters.

Drill some holes in the sides for bee nests! I have a leafcutter bee (or two) who have nested in my holey firewood chunks two years running.

They look like a nice place to sit.

I have collected many random pieces of wood from around my neighborhood. Here are just two from a dead oak my western neighbor cut down. They are next to a piece from a tulip poplar my eastern neighbor cut down. Then I have smaller logs defining beds around the yard.
The stump is lovely but your weedless native paradise is even better. How long has your garden been established?
That stump fits in so naturally looks like it’s always been part of the garden!
Hell yeah! I remember walking a half mile with a dolly to pick up a 100+ pound hackberry stump myself!
I did the same with a neighbor! I added to my toddlers secret garden, they love to turn them over and look for bugs
You can put a cushion on top for a stool
You can always use a stump for the garden! Great feature!
