So I bought a bulk deal of about 250 monstera seeds because I like growing plants from seeds and, yeah, I wanted to see if I would get lucky and end up with a variegated baby. I've grown monstera from seed before and they all ended up normal, so I wasn't expecting anything special, but this seller mentioned that they sometimes got variegated seedlings and the price wasn't bad at all, so I gave it a try.

Admittedly, when the seeds arrived I was kind of concerned because a lot of them had roots that had started to grow then died off and some of the seeds looked concerningly brown (compared to the green that I'm used to), but I planted them all anyways and gave it time.

As of now, not all of the seeds have sprouted (and a portion did end up dying from mixed causes, including a faulty heat mat earlier in the year back). The vast majority of them are normal monstera, but I've started pulling out and separating the ones that showed mutated leaves or variegation. Granted, these are just first leaves and they could very well put out normal leaves soon, but I'm super excited to see how many of these end up retaining variegation/mutation. The albo/mint in its own pot is the only variegated one that has two clearly variegated leaves so far (furled one has visible white patches); one of the others already put out a fully normal leaf and the rest either have a single leaf or their newest leaf is still too fresh to tell if it will have the same variegation as the first leaf.
