ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said a woman has died due to heat exhaustion.

Officials said the woman died after being outside in extreme temperatures on Wednesday. Her cause of death is hyperthermia due to heat exposure, and the manner of death has been ruled accidental

At this time, the woman has not been identified but the coroner said she was 56 years old and was outside watering her garden.

The Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the scene.

This is Anderson County’s first heat related death of 2025.
