Is this ready for cardboard mulching?


So I weed wacked the area. Can I do cardboard mulching now? My goal is to kill all the grass and weeds here and start planting natives from fall.

    Located at zone 8a. The image is a portion of my backyard which I want to do native gardening.

    If you edge a couple inches around the perimeter the grass can’t grow underneath the edges of the cardboard. That’s something I’ve learned through this process. Cut it all the way down to the dirt
