Bought some small ferns for in a terrarium but the new fronds are much bigger than the original ones (which are still present) and have a copper tinge. Thought there might not be enough light so I moved it and trimmed them all off but they've grown again too tall for the container. Sorry the ferns were unlabelled.

Is it not happy in there? or too happy? or just the wrong fern for the terrarium size? TIA.

I had ferns hitting the lid of the terrarium and, strangely, deform. I trimmed the overgrown ones, but left a stem and a few leaves. Some of the newly grown are not that high now, and the trimmed ones are basically just existing.

I had high hopes that plant will eventually ‘accept’ the height limitation if I keep trimming it, because I really like ferns in a terrarium, but I don’t know.. It slowed down, naturally, so I might have created a fern bonsai.
