My Purple Prairie Clover (Dalea purperea) just bloomed for the first time! This plant is considered to be an extirpated species in my local area, so I’m very happy to help bring it back.
Lots of yellow and gold right now. Several kinds of coreopsis, several kinds of sunflower (both annual and perennial), my golden Alexander is just finishing up, and the blanket flower is gorgeous as well.
As a bonus, the greens I left in my garden to collect the seeds are also blooming yellow. 💛

Green, soon to be white.
Butterfly milkweed is my favorite but I’ve had 3 plants die now at this point lol, I guess they don’t like my soil I dunno
This year I’m really enjoying having blooms in different colors in proximity to each other. The contrast makes both look better.

Found this friend quite far from any other places I’ve actually planted spiderwort, but I’m glad to see it anyway
