  1. Not as much as u are hoping, I’m sure u have put much love n care into her. But maybe u can find a plant category in ur hometown. They will be ur best, hope of her going to a good home. Good luck on ur move.

  2. Its like a $200 plant, but kind of easier to chop 25% of it off (2 or 3 leaves per cutting) and sell those for like 20 bucks in water

  3. Responsible_Pie5921

I’d make it fit LOL but probably around $80-$100. Price high to be able to negotiate

  4. MetalTough6865

Depends how quickly you want to sell. I’d give it a trim and take it with you. It’s a beautiful plant and clearly loved ❤️

  5. rlrlrlrlrlr

    I’d pay $15-25 for a cutting.

I wouldn’t take one that big. The whole idea for me is watching them grow with an occasional assist or pruning from me.

Take a cutting for yourself and move on. It’s much easier said than done, but this is the way.

I think it depends on where you live. But if I had the space for it, I’d probably be willing to spend $150 on it.

  7. Awkward-Physics4696

List for $200 and take no less than $100

  8. Zestyclose-Goal-2388

100-200 is about right. Nice work.I just got my first like yours for Mother’s Day. 20 bucks and has 13 in one pot just starting to have more than 1 slit per leaf

This plant doesn’t seem to be getting enough light. Newer leaves are coming out with no inner fenestrations, lower/older leaves have them. The internodal spacing is also stretched indicating insufficient lighting. While this plant may be mature the current new growth doesn’t show that.

I would cut the tops off (5-6 leaves) and sell those separately for $25-30 a piece, then sell the bottom for $50-75. The plant as is could look better and will be a bit of a pain going forward.

You mentioned you paid $50 for the pot. Go buy a plastic 5 gallon pot and transplant it into that.
The pot a plant comes in is hardly a factor in pricing when it comes to selling plants privately.

  10. You might also consider going to a local shop and seeing if they are interested in showcasing your plant for a percentage of its selling price, for example 30%. I know that seems high but if you pick an expensive interior decorator shop or specialty furniture store, jewelry store, high fashion boutique or other high end shop, you’ll still make more money even with 30% off than selling it on your own.

Just wanted to suggest the trash bag method for moving – you cut a hole in the bottom of the bag, put the plant on top of the hole, and pull the bag up and over the plant. It’s a gentle way to package them in their natural orientation. This is how companies package them when they have to be shipped. I moved two big monsteras cross country in my rav-4 this way. Best of luck!

  12. trance4ever

not much, its very leggy due to insufficient light, one of the giveaways is that top one that has an usually long stem, cause she’s reaching for the light

  13. AlexMaybeAlison

Just sold one in Arkansas like this for $50. Also moving and had to move it 😭

  14. Prestigious-Sir6885

I would pay $200..$150 that thang is amazing

  15. I’d pay $100 if I was actively looking for that plant to buy from a non retail store. Probably would need to be more like $70 to make an impulse buy.

If you NEED to get rid of it I think it would have to be like $50 or less for it to move fast.

Sorry, I know everybody would love top price for a big beautiful plant you probably put lots of work and time into but the second hand market for everything basically goes off garage sale prices unless you can have it up for sale for years. Also selling anything large is difficult. People don’t want to pickup or can’t pickup large things.

Look on Facebook marketplace and see what they are selling for in your area.

I’m 5″ tall, I can fit in an SUV!

In all honesty, aside from what others have posted, I have one anecdote for convenience’s sake: The previous owners of our condo offered to give us the huge bird of paradise in exchange for the cost of the planter.  We still have it going strong; it was well suited for that spot.

  18. GreyBoyTigger

Put a garbage bag over the pot and take it with you

  19. GayassMcGayface

I know everyone will be bothered by this, but I didn’t realize there were so many suckers in the plant world. I gotta start selling my monsters instead of chopping and propping if you guys are willing to part with $200 for this.

  20. TheFFCommish

You’re asking on a houseplant sub, so these prices will be inflated. On FB marketplace you’d probably get 50 maybe? 40.for a quick sale?

  21. IllustriousNight3170

I’m in the process of moving from Cleveland to Atlanta and that’s the only thing I’m worried about is moving all my plants

  22. puffymik3

I’ll be the only honest answer here. No more than $60; probably like $45

It’s a beautiful plant and it looks like you’ve taken really good care of it but monsteras are fast growing and yours is still young and still filling out

  23. Frederica-Bimmel

If you’re in So Ca, la county area, I’ll buy it!

  24. Downtown_Ad_811

i wonder how much a fancy hotel or restaurant would pay for it

  25. UnstoppableChicken

Chop and prop? I saw a woman selling a huge cutting for like 45 bucks from her small-tree sized monstera.

  26. Drop your location. I know if you’re near arizona, i’d buy it!

  27. Cultural_Wash5414

Rent a UHaul! That’s what we’re doing for plants and stuff like this!!

  28. hotdoginjection

Some local dentist office, bank, etc wants that for $500, I guarantee

  29. dunnieone

Give it to a friend. Spread the joy it’s given you

  30. Hellyeahlalujah

Not a price suggestion, BUT I would try selling this to some businesses in your area. Like a restaurant or office that has a good feel would probably want a beautiful specimen like that and you could avoid listing it on like Facebook or something. Plus, businesses usually have ways to transport stuff.

  31. crapbag29

I’d go a nursery and see what a monsteras that size goes for in your area and discount it. She’s gorgeous, my condolences on having to rehome her.

  32. FaurieFatchu

Treat it like a puppy, charge a re-homing fee

  33. crying2emoji5

If absolutely pay like $150 for this bad boy. $200 for the emotional damage you’re experiencing 😢

  34. Unrelated but what are you using to stake it upright? I tried using some skinny green twig like stakes but they collapse under the weight.
