This guy looks like he's struggling. New to me, never had an olive tree before but I'm assuming I should treat it similar to a cacti, like dry well draining soil since these dudes normally live in hot dry climates. He was sitting in a soggy pot (I'm assuming it's been over watered?), I haven't transplanted cuz I don't want to shock it or hurt it since I don't know much, but he doesn't look to be doing super well and I'm wondering if I should just take him out and get him in some new soil/inspect roots since the leaves are droopy and sad and idk how long it's been soggy. Any tips? Currently hes out on the front porch because it's a lot warmer, not in direct sun because I didn't want to burn it since it's been inside probably it's whole life. Tips and tricks appreciated!

He looks too big for his pot. I would definitely repot him.

I purchased two of these from Costco. They were slightly larger than this. I gave them an organic 2-2-2 fertilizer when I got home. I put them outside under a shade tree to acclimate them. They have grown quite a bit with a light watering once a week. A few days later I was back at Costco and the olive trees that were left lost all of their leaves. Mine did lose some leaves when I put them outside but they grew new ones and look full. I probably won’t repot until next spring

    Olive right?

Take it outside and put it in the sun. Water very deeply and completely saturate the soil, then do not water it again until the top layer of soil is nice and dry again.
