Hannah Becket, from Sage Green Landscapes in Wiltshire, was awarded the top prize for her garden, Nature’s Resilience, at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2025.
The garden was on display at Birmingham’s NEC and used sculptures and planting to illustrate how nature adapts and regenerates.
Ms Becket, who lives in Devizes, said: “I’m thrilled and so proud to have received a gold medal.
“The show was a brilliant experience, and seeing people stop, reflect, and connect with the ideas behind the garden was incredibly rewarding.
“The show’s theme of cultivating connections really came to life for me.
“I met so many inspiring people, and I was truly overwhelmed by the support of my friends, family, and suppliers who helped bring this garden to life.”
The 4m x 4m garden contrasted a lush, pollinator-friendly planting scheme with a gravel-planted area representing a wasteland beginning to recover.
At its centre stood a striking Mother Nature sculpture made entirely from moss, foliage, and living plants.
The figure also housed a carefully constructed insect home, symbolising the interconnectedness and resilience of nature.
A second sculpture depicted a seated human figure, created from chicken wire and recycled materials.
This figure was placed on the gravel side of the garden to represent the impact of human activity and the potential for reflection and positive change.
The two sculptures framed a visual narrative of loss and renewal, connected by a winding path of mushroom compost edged with recycled bottles and hazel.
The garden was sponsored by Wiltshire Wealth Management.
Following the show, the sculptures and other parts of the garden will be relocated to St Barnabas Primary School in Wiltshire.
There they will continue to inspire conversations about sustainability, creativity, and the power of nature among students and the wider community.
BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2025 was held over four days at the NEC and attracted more than 100,000 visitors.
