I assume there are some Monarch butterflies lurking in this subreddit, so just a heads up – our parkway / hellstrip is bursting with Butterfly Weed this morning. Come and get it! 🦋🍽️

was this a neighborhood thing asking the city or did you do this? Nice job. At some point I want to do something beneficial with my parkway, but it’s even wider than that.
Why are they called hellstrips anyway? I’ve never heard that term before joining this subreddit.

How did you get so much butterfly weed established? I’ve been trying but I’m having difficulty getting them to survive the first winter.

man oh mAN I can’t wait for my spot in my yard that i’ve planted….13? 15? Butterfly weeds to look like this! Had 3 or 4 bloom this year and had 2-3 monarchs so far, so many bees and other bugs…..with this many its gonna be nuts!
