I spotted a milkweed that was mysteriously clear of aphids. I found this little beauty and moved her to her next feast. Still there an hour later. Go girl go!!

am i wrong in assuming that this is an invasive asian ladybeetle and not a native ladybug?

Awesome. Earlier today I noticed a few on our strawberries and a few more other places in the garden. I gave each a Robert Redford-Jeremiah Johnson head nod for the work they’re doing.

  3. Oh man, the jumpscare of aphids nearly had me reflecively downvote. I’m cheering for the ladybug

It looks like invasive beetle – the white on the eyes are bigger and they look cuter. Real ladybugs don’t look so beautiful – they are working hard.

I see that I am not the only one who is plagued with these orange aphids on milkweed. I started them from seed 2 years ago, a white flowered variety. I get foliage but no flowers 2 years in a row. I checked the other day, no aphids yet but they should arrive soon. I wish they would flower. They are surrounded by salvia s, four o’clocks and Siberian irises. The aphids only bother the milkweed. I just squish them.
