My fockea has been slowly losing its leaves and then the branches just break when you try to handle them. The caudex feels firm to the touch and I don't see any signs of pest. I was wondering if its trying to go dormant, but I don't recall it having a dormancy period. Any suggestions?
I water once a week in summer, unless it rains. Kept in part sun, part shade with about 3 hours of direct sun.

What zone are you in? What are your day and night time temps? Is that a topper or does it go all the way down? If topper what is the soil mix. How long have you had the plant?
Here in zone 6B, mine is just starting to put on growth. I lost a lot of vine and foliage this spring, but I think that was more due to forgetting the plant behind some other plants and it got too dry.

Looks a bit overpotted. What hemisphere are you in? In the US at least, this plant should be growing pretty well. Brittle branches and no leaves sounds like a watering/ root issue to me.
Have you checked for rot? It looks like there might be a crack on the bottom part in the first picture. I would scoop out the first inch or two of soil to see that the caudex looks like.
