I know this is annoying for you as a gardener, but as a redditor, that lil thing is damn cute! and chonky, looks like they’re eating good 🤭😆

You can try spreading some blood meal around the garden’s edges and around the target plants. It may be a good deterrent.

He’s like holy cow all of this for me?!?

  4. So nice of you to leave a buffet out for him! Mine are lazy and won’t go over the chicken wire fence, so they just enjoy grass.

He still can’t believe you fenced off his own little garden salad *just* for him 😭

Probably pregnant then she’s gonna bring the whole family for dinner. I had the rabbits do that to me last year just didn’t wanna kill him in the spring and I paid for it later.

“Aww nice fence ya got here…*shimmies through* I’ll just use this door right here…”

You need to get rid of him or i guarantee you will never grow edamame.

Sneaky little fella. I love your quaint garden! It’s so green and pretty.💚 Whenever I get the space to have my own garden, I would love to have a little section for nature. Hopefully my personal garden will remain untouched.

Good news is that if she keeps eating your stuff she’s not gonna fit through the fence anymore

Had a mama and her babies do the exact same thing to me – two full beds of carrots and lettuce just gone. On the plus side, I got to watch mama teach the babies how to sneak through the fence 😆

What a cutie. Man you’re so lucky. what I wouldn’t do for a little chonk to come hang out in my yard. I’ve got snakes and scorpions. 👎🏼

I can’t tell clearly. What is he? He looks like a raccoon and a cat blended together.

  14. Oooh, he’s a bad hungry, chubby, lovely boy! ❤️
We have one in our backyard every year too, I think they live under my shed! 🦫

  15. We get slugs. Not cute AND they eat everything.

Plants look like they’ve been nuked.

I hope you’ve seen that video of a particular ground hog stealing veggies and eating them in front of the camera which was set-up to see who was stealing the said veggies😂

So cute! I’ve always wondered why Americans fence off their veg gardens … Now I know 😅

From what I’ve researched, using one of those fake owls – especially the ones that are solar powered, make hoot sounds, and turn heads most likely work best at keeping critters like yours at bay.

However I’ve also read that if you don’t take the time to move it around your garden every so often, they will get used to it and realize that it’s not real.

I had a ground hog that did the same thing as yours for several years. I was so disappointed that I stopped growing vegetables for a few years. I don’t mind sharing, but this guy was greedy and would rob me blind and sometimes only taking a bite or two out of each vegetable. 😡

This year I decided to how back to growing veggies and I’m going to 3D print a life size owl and see how that goes.

That’s a happy groundhawg! Lol. Cute little shits….

I’m so jealous of you people living in a Disney movie! We don’t have any land mammals where I live and I am always filled with awe when I see all these adorable creatures running around your yards!

  21. buttmunch3

okay i’m sorry this happened to the veggies but he’s SO cute

Those sniffs before his little jump took me out

Or as the critter calls it, the salad bar.

Strongly recommend Hardware Cloth to anyone that has animal issues. Sturdier than chicken wire and far easier to shape to your needs, just use hog rings or even a cheap D-clip (carabiner) to join panels, use rebar on the corners to stabilize it all. Mesh netting simply won’t cut it.
