what a joy to ride with you around the property.. (love the phone call with Benjamin and his homework, such a great young man!)… those swallowtails… i have tons of monarchs (and 9 chrysalises plus more caterpillars in a flutterbye cage to keep them from getting eaten by the lizards, lol).. i've planted rue and dill trying to get swallowtails to visit… i had one last year and i'm hopeful this year i will have more… such a graceful flutterbye (my kids called butterflies "flutterbyes" so it's stuck in our language now, ha)… and the bumbles.. i love the bumbles… love how you are filling your spaces so much you are presented with a challenge in planting!!! trees look good.. i want a chitalpa now but nowhere to put one and probably too hot anyway… and the hanging baskets.. i saw the title of this video and said to myself WHAT??? 🤣🤣those are going to be beautiful!!! what a great day!!! 🥰❤thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
Love the trees and their placement! Have you thought about carrying a small "medical bag" with the basics for drip tube repair, this way you'll always have it in the gator and the pieces won't roll around and get lost.

We're in winter here right now, a storm is raging outside and we expect very low temperatures for our zone this week but every morning I'll have my breakfast watching your videos which helps a lot combating that winter sadness, seeing you guys planting and enjoying the summer reminds me that in a few months the sun will be bathing my garden too. I've a question for you: you don't trim the lower branches of your large shrubs and roses, is there a reason for that or it's just for how they look? Aren't you afraid of pests and mold clinging on those lower branches?

Speaking of toxic to horses. Crabapples attract caterpillars, so if that is a concern in your area, caterpillars are toxic to pregnant horses.
Good Morning! I think we may live in the same state but I'm a bit further north. When I saw your little plastic covered structure I thought, they must not get as much wind, but then you said that you do. Whenever I see one of those temporary awning/gazebo structures I picture it flying away. It's common here to have to fetch trampolines out of a neighbor's yard. You also must have fewer deer. A dogwood here wouldn't last too long. I am enjoying your channel very much.
Question: Where you planted the little blue evergreen, why not plant a hosta in the shade of that big tree right there??

I agree that the soil reservoir for hanging baskets can be tricky. I love the big hanging baskets on my town light posts but a basket that size would look ridiculous at my small bungalow but small ones don't have the same impact when you're limited on plant selection.
