They’ll take root in a glass of water after a few days. Simply cut off a piece about 10-15 cm long (including leaf axils).

Its a nasturtium. The leaves and flowers are edible and pack little peppery spice to them!

Tropaeolum majus, garden nasturtium but they are not in the Nasturtium (watercress) genus. The leaves and flowers are edible and taste similar to cress, hence the common name. Just ask for a cutting and let it root in water.

Hey I noticed something off…nobody has upvotes on their comments! I’ll upvote everyone and be the first to!

I reckon based on general consensus I can call this solved thanks y’all. I’ll ask her for an offcut to grow my own later.

That is definitely a Nasturtium! I grow them every year. They’re beautiful and the leaves and flowers are tasty!

Nasturtium probably with spicy red orange flowers and umbonate leaves.

Looks like a nasturtium but not certain

    Are Nasturtiums perennial or annual?

I only know the common name ‘owls eye’ and that they are super common in the Netherlands. Lol.

They’re called Oost-Indische Kers (East-Indies Cherry) in Dutch. They’ll grow all over absolutely everything at lightning speed if there’s even half sun, and reseed themselves at least once. Tasty and mildly spicy leaves, seed pods, and flowers.

    Nasturtium.

I don’t know how well it will flower indoors, but if/when it does, you could harvest seeds from it.

You can pick up a packet of seeds and plant them right now.

Beautiful nasturtium! One of my favorites to grow! The leaves are wonderful in a roast beef sandwich 😁

Nasturtium. You can eat it. You can put it in your garden so pests eat it instead of your crops.
