Looks like a Yucca elephantipes. When their trunk is injured, it will stimulate the plant to send out new pups as long as some stem/trunk are still intact. So in a sense, it’s the same plant just growing a new shoot off its old one.

Looks like a Yucca, Cordyline or similar, which readily regrow from sections of trunk. You’ve accidentally taken cuttings, plant them out.
