NorCal, Sacramento valley. Wife was adamant about getting this monstrosity for the kids. The things we do for our offspring. They're going to have a great summer.

The summer of memories you’re about to make will be worth the dead spot.

Your kids will have a blast on that, and when they run through the grass next to it, they’re gonna appreciate how soft and plush that is too!

My neighbor just got this one and the kids loved it’s. Took a bit to figure out how the water lines are ran but we managed!

Enjoy the summer memories, the turf will come back

  4. They’ll remember the fun better than a beautiful lawn. Nice work, dad!

Cheaper than a pool. This is a big W for you. Let us have a moment of silence for the grass in that area as their sacrifice isn’t in vain🫡

Is there a filter system for these things, I put a tiny pool in the backyard and it’s full of crap by one day in.

    These aren’t so bad.

The splash may however that’s very thin – dead spot in a couple hours.

  8. What do you mean there it goes? This is what it was grown for.

Roll it up the same night and use a plastic rake to lift the grass back up.

Worth it. My girls are away in grad school now, seems like yesterday they were tiny 😢

Just move it around the yard each night. We love ours and basically built a backyard with sod just to be able to use it.

Unfortunately it empties every night, so I just drag it over and repeat each day it’s in use.

Just be sure to blow it up empty on a sunny day to dry it out before rolling it for storage.

A day at a time won’t hurt your grass. 2 is pushing it. Anything more is painful to watch but worth the fun you’ll have with the little ones.

Sorry, you feel that way. The whole reason I try to keep my grass lush and soft is so my kids can run around barefoot. One day in the future, I’m going to see that there are no more dead spots on my lawn, and I’ll be sad.

  14. That thing is bad ass. Looks like an oasis back there.

I have something similar. I take it down and put it back up over and over. Its extra work and a pain but it keeps the water cleaner and the grass survivee

You shouldn’t leave it out on the lawn when it isn’t about to be used or drying off from having been just used – just don’t leave it there all day every day and you’ll be fine. The part of my yard around where we setup something like this is doing better than ever from all the extra water it gets.

    I’ll play taps for you.

  20. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned, but don’t leave it empty at all, it will burn the grass in no time. A couple hours on a hot day and you have a perfect brown silhouette for the rest of the summer. Do what another reply said and move it in the evening, rake up the area and you’ll be safe. They don’t hold water without the air on anyway.

“We’re not raising grass, we’re raising boys” is a quote attributed to Harmon Killebrew’s father. The story goes that Killebrew’s mother would complain about the kids tearing up the grass while playing, and his father would respond with this quote, highlighting the importance of letting children be children and experience life, even if it means a little mess.

Screw the grass, your kids are gonna have the best summer

  23. Raide1985

We have an extremely similar one. Kids love it. The lawn takes a bit of a hit but it’s worth it!

Dude, you stole my thunder! Was just trying to talk the wife into this but pretty sure I’m just gonna buy one anyway

  25. AggravatingTart7167

Best of both worlds! Killer inflatable and awesome patch of great grass!

  26. I think they will have great memories of playing in the water, then stepping off onto a beautiful thick lawn 🥰

  27. Socialmediasuckz

You could just take it out on the weekends.

    Moon bounce $400,
    rework on grass $300,
the smile and fun on the kids faces – priceless! There are something’s that money can’t buy. For everything else there is Mastercard.
