My dracaena used to be so healthy. It was my dad’s who had it for about 20 years but he passed and I have neglected it I admit when I went to uni. I really really want to revive it. Any tips on what I should do? The pictures I have listed are at its worst and best and before I tried to prune it.
I’ve left in the garage (in the dark) for about 2.5 years. I’m on a mission to revive it. I have cut off the stems and little green spuds have come out but I did this like 2 months ago and I feel like I should’ve seen more of an improvement. I don’t water it much. I have also moved it in a lighter area and next to a window. Do u think I need to prune more or should I take it outside or something for summer? How do I revive this 😭😭😭😭

Bro you left it in the garage for years its not going to bounce back in 2 months. Give it time and put it next to a window.
Well… If it were me, I’d prune it all the way back, repot in well draining soil with fertilizer and give it lots of bright but indirect light. I’d check roots and trim anything away that’s dead. And then pray for a miracle. Only water once the top couple of inches of soil are dry to avoid root rot. I’m not a professional by any means but have rehabbed a few plants.
Give it some light. Also, cut off about a foot or more from each stem. Hell, you could cut them all down, leaving only a foot and it should do fine. It’ll take time for growth to start again. Also, look at the light in the healthy picture. Notice it is bright, ambient light. Try to match that.
Light produces chlorophyll in plants. Chlorophyll is food for plants. Food makes plant grow and happy. You have been starving this plant for over 2 years, it needs light. C’mon…
I have brought one of these back by chopping off all the tips and rooting them in water. 6 out of 7 tips rooted successfully. I cut them at about 20-25!! cm.
