I recently had to transport her in my car, made a fast turn and she fell over. I was able to situate her back to safety, but the damage was already done đ
I currently have it propped up with a chopstick, but am very worried. Looks like she developed a brown spot where the trauma happened.
Should I chop it off? Should I give it some time to see if she heals (and is that even a possibility?) I feel awful. I should have secured her better in the car. Iâve apologized profusely and hope I am forgiven đ
TIA! đ„č

leaf might heal, might not. the plant will be fine either way but you could cut it off if you think it looks better that way
đȘHer pot has drainage holes!
Aloe Vera are pretty hardy. If it breaks off, it will callus over. They grow like weeds in the wild. I like to keep mine small so every couple years, I cut off the stem below of a few leaves, let the stem callous over, then put back in the soil and it grows again heartily
Itâll be fine. Sometimes Iâll break off a piece of mine for sunburns or bug bites.
I’ve never had one heal from a bend, but most of mine have stayed bent long enough that there is no going back. Sometimes they will grow right up against the side of the pot and get a bend in the leaves. I’ve had a couple where the bent leaf dies back, but most of them just keep the leaf with no issues. It is usually the first leaf to die back if the plant starts struggling though.
But like others have said you can cut it off if it bothers you and it will callus over with no issues. If you choose to cut it, the gel in the leaves is very good for treating burns. đđŒ
