Pollinators love them, birds will hit the seed heads later, and they’re drought-tough once established. If you’re looking to layer in more structure, toss in some Little Bluestem or Coreopsis verticillata for height contrast and long bloom. Great habitat and curb appeal all in one!

Looks great! I always thought E. Purpurea was native in all of the eastern US, but am now realizing it’s not. Living on the eastern edge of Ohio, it’s nearly out of “native range” for me
