Had this monstera about 3 weeks, it’s recently started turning brown on the tips of the leaves. It was repotted on the day of purchase and watered. Not sure what to do, any advice would be great.

It’s in a light filled room too.

Are you overwatering? They like their dry cycle. I am no expert, but I work with plants. We currently have about 25 monstera plants. With these plants, it seems that they dislike being watered too much. Just a thought…..

Is that just in a ceramic pot or in a nursery pot and I just can’t see it in the pic?

Ceramic has a tendency to hold on to pockets of moisture

Monsteras have a tendency at root rot

So above all things (asides from butt loads of sun) you want well draining soil

Is your soil mixed with anything? Perlite? Orchid bark? Or just straight dirt?

  3. This happened to me, I cut off all the leaves that were affected at the base as far down as possible and it fixed it completely / kept it from spreading. Did you get it from trader joe’s?
