Besides these first learner jars, I have a buttload of mosses and plants in prop bins now ready to do some bigger builds.

I'm really loving some of these aquarium plants. The scale is perfect for these little terrariums. Growth is pretty aggressive on some of them though. There's a whole world of plants out there that the terrarium world aren't using, which makes these look even more unique.

I'm so glad I did this before committing to something with more build time. Each of these only took a while to put together. I've melted plenty of plants and replaced/relocated things. I know a lot better now how things grow and what type of water they need, or rather tolerate – because most of these are hyperhumid.

I'm most stoked about two bog bins of baby bucephalandra, anubias and cryptocoryne that's ready to use.

Each of these jars is different so there's no formula with substrate. All of my plants are getting about 15 hours of light a day, some under cheap grow bulbs, LED gooseneck lights, aquarium lights, and LED grow lights. Whenever I find a used light at a good deal I grab it. The bigger ones have a drainage layer. The little whiskey glass moss rocks are just in course gravel. Some of them are built to draw moisture, some aren't.

Last close up is my favorite, so underrated plant for terrariums- juncus repens. It's an amazing grass like plant that grows basically like a spider plant. You can cut off the babies and replant for bushes and carpets or let it trail. Such a nice contrast to all of the round leaf terrarium plants. This one's turning red up by the light.
