Hello! I am growing and intend to grow Caudex from seed and my question is whether I need the lighting, I have included three pictures one with all the lights, one with just the top light and one with no lights and I'm wondering if I need any of them

You don’t need the light for germination with most caudices, but you need the light for them to grow once they sprout.
I would start with low light and increase it ad they get bigger if you have a mix with different caudices.
There are some that absolutely love light (like adenium) while gerrardanthus can live comfortably in a bright shade
I say start with high light and if your plants have red leaves/stress colors then reduce it.
What caudex plants do you intend to grow? A decent number of caudex plants have large seeds that do not need gentle conditions as seedlings.
