Went to the local nursery today only looking for some milkweed… But then they were tricky and had them in a whole aisle of native plants.
Ended up also bringing home some Joe Pye weed, blue lobelia, bee balm, mountain mint, and obedient plant, on top of butterflyweed and swamp milkweed.
And of course a bunch of lovely seeds I'll find a way to kill. I'm somehow terrible at planting seeds, but I live in eternal hope.

Many, many times.
I was so excited that the new car I bought a few years ago came with the rubber mat that covers the entire hatchback floor.
Who didn’t… Most ridiculous market tour was me leaving th parking lot with an apple tree sticking its crown out of my Hyundai i10’s trunk ๐
lol, accidentally often. The worst is when you get something that doesnโt fit the automobile you have access to.
No, it was very intentional. I didn’t have a list, but when it happened I was conscious of it.
Most of your seeds need to be stratified before theyโll successfully germinate! Look that up before you plant. Wishing you success!
Plz send me pics when you plant that purple cone flower. It was my mom’s favorite plant and I haven’t seen a single bloom from it yet
Accidents happen. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ They forced me to buy them. I had no choice.

Are you planning on using the seeds this year?
Ope, i, did it again.
Itโs never an accident for me
Yep! Not that long ago. And might do it again come end of summer for fall planting hahaha
Accidentally, on purpose, the lines tend to blur a smidge
I try to limit myself more and more because it’s hard to get stuff in the ground. I make a big hole, inevitably extract a ton of rocks, flood it to mix native soil with whatever the cheapest topsoil I found was… give it a nice place with room to grow. Now it’s getting really hot and I still have 4 to put in.
I hate when that happens.
Story of my life.
I recently brought home a car full of native plants that came up on a different property that were going to be destroyed (with permission). I love your new plants.

I’m not jealous
Yep. They jump in the cart when I’m not looking. Seed packets too.
Yes. Itโs as if Iโm in trance or being controlled by some alien being. All of a sudden I have more plants so might as well plant them.
I planted 32 native plants today from my local Wild Ones and a university nature preserve. So, yes, I know exactly what this is like ๐คฃ
Thereโs really nothing like driving home through the country on a sunny day, Shania Twain blasting from the stereo, backseat jam-packed with native plants just smelling so strongly of life.
Every time I go to my local nursery. Itโs a game of โhow many plants can I squeeze in the carโ. Good to know Iโm not the only one!
A local library has a native plant sale fundraiser every June. All plants are $5. I spent $80 this year. My front lawn resembles that of a crazy personโฆ

Alllll the time
Yeah the first time, my husband wasโฆalarmed. Now he doesnโt even blink ๐
So jealous! I’ve been struggling to find local sources for plants. I went to my local Wild Ones chapter sale yesterday. There were only 4 vendors! Went with a list of 20+ species I was looking for, came home with 5. Closest native nursery I’ve found is almost 2 hours away.
I don’t have a car, so for me it’s a truckload ๐
