My edithae silver had been thriving, but this morning I found the center had darkened. I almost had a heart attack (probably still will) thinking it is crown rot.
Yet I noticed it is just a ring around the middle, it doesn't extend to the bottom of the leaves (?). The stem is firm, the leaves are not lose and the plant doesn't smell like rot. Thoughts?

Most likely it’s fine but it looks to have had a high humidity scare. My plants had something similar recently, a thin lighter band followed by a thick darker band.
The cause was pretty obvious, mine are normally water twice a week and i went on vacation for 10 days. There was no cooking so indoor humidity dropped, causing the plant to produce more trichomes. I had also moved the plants away from the light, the plants didn’t grow much, so the light band was thin.
Then when i came back, the plants went back to their normal spot, i made sure to rehydrate them properly and we were immediately hit with some very very humid weather that persisted for over 2 weeks, causing the indoor humidity to go up by more than 20%, explaining the thicker dark band.
The weather improved and the new growth from there on out had the regular amount of trichomes. The plants are doing just fine and your’s is probably as well.
